Mr. Thomas Jefferson Young Jr.'s Obituary
Thomas Jefferson Young Jr. began his journey on January 29, 1940 in Meridian, MS. He was the only son born to the late Thomas and Laura Young. His sibling Annie Laura Wooten and niece Patricia Wooten preceded him in death. He united with the Newell Chapel CME Church at a very early age.
Thomas completed public schooling at Harris High School in Meridian, MS. He attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA and received his B.A. Degree in Political Science.
After completing his education in Louisianan, he moved to Chicago and attended Roosevelt University and received his Master Degree in Political Science.
He worked with the late Mayor Harald Washington of Chicago for many years. Later he ran for public office in Chicago and was successful.
After retirement, he relocated to Meridian where he became active in voter registration and political education drive.
