Mr. Tommie Calvin McMillian's Obituary
Tommie Calvin McMillian was born on October 30, 1944 to the late Otis and Bessie Lee McMillian. He was the fourth of six children born to this union. At an early age, Tommie united with Hope Well Baptist Church in Hickory, Mississippi, where he sang in the choir. He attended school at T. York and Northside School in Rose Hill, MS, Southside High School in Heidleberg, MS and Hickory High School in Hickory, MS. Tommie would later go on to become a school bus driver. He relocated to Columbus, Ohio for many years. Tommie met and married Vera Nell Jordan, to this union one son was born. He later joined in Holy Matrimony to Earline Taylor McMillian. Although Tommie had a few detours along the way that slowed him down, while incarcerated, he received a degree from Tennessee State University. He was a mechanic and a truck driver. He worked with many types of people. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis McMillian and Bessie Hughes McMillian. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Earline McMillian; son: Terrance McMillian; four stepchildren: Kenneth Randle, Linda Hayes, Sharon Taylor and Johnnie Taylor; three sisters: Mary A. Bradley of Columbus, OH, Daphine (Melvin) Wright and Alma (Jack) Heidelberg of Meridian, MS; two brothers: Johnnie C. (Betty) McMillian of Pachuta, MS, and David M (Rose) McMillian of Nashville, TN; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
