Mr. Tommy Lee Pearson, Jr.'s Obituary
Tommy was known to many as "Boy Baby" and to others as neighbor, friend, or just Uncle Tommy. We do not know if he was born in the morning, afternoon, at night. But, on July 3, 1937, a bouncing baby boy, Tommy Lee Pearson, Jr., was born to Tommy and Cleo Pearson. He was the second oldest of nine children. His mother called him her little "baby boy", but his sister Lottie could not pronounce his name, therefore, he acquired the name "Boy Baby". Tommy completed his education at Harris High School in 1957. He was a bass drummer for the Harris High School Marching Band. Later, he married Jewel Henderson and to this union, five children were born. Tommy joined the army and served his country from 1959 until 1961. He was employed at Custom-Fold Doors, Inc., in Burbank, California, until his retirement. At the tender age of eight years old, Tommy was baptized at Pleasant Hill M. B. Church where he also sang in the church's choir. From there, he was later baptized into the Seventh-Day Adventist faith and was a member at the Advent Fellowship of Nations under the leadership of Pastor Berlin Blades. Tommy never met a stranger. Those who knew him well, knew that he loved to talk and talk and fish and talk some more. He was, also, our family historian. Anything you needed to know about the Brookins family, just ask Tommy, Jr. Tommy departed this life on May 24, 2016. In addition, he leaves to mourn two brothers, Willie(Vivia) of Meridian, Mississippi, James (Jeanette) of Chicago, Illinois, five sisters, Lottie, Bennie, and Janie of Meridian, Mississippi, Joyce and Carrie of California, and many nieces and nephews, family, and friends.
