Mr. Tresven "Puncho" Whitlock's Obituary
Tresven "Puncho" Whitlock was born on August 7, 1955, to James Lamar Whitlock and Mary Frances Hunter Whitlock in Meridian, MS. He confessed Christ at an early age at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Savoy, MS. He attended Meridian Public Schools and graduated from Meridian High School in 1973. At Meridian High, he was an outstanding football player, thus enabling him to further his education and continue to play football at MS Valley State University in Itta Bena, MS. Upon graduation from MS Valley, he moved to Wichita, KS, and began a career in aircraft engineering. During his career in the aircraft industry, he excelled immensely because he had a love for airplanes and flying. He had the opportunity to work for multiple companies, including Boeing, Bell Helicopter, and Fansteel. After his medical retirement, he enjoyed traveling. When his health failed, he returned to Meridian to be near family. Throughout his working career and travels, he maintained his belief and faith in the Lord. On Monday, March 2 at Regency Hospital located at Anderson South Regional Medical Center, he departed this life and is now in the arms of God. He was preceded in death by his father, James, and his brother, Darrell Lamar Whitlock. His heritage, rich life, and memories will be cherished by his mother, Mary F. Whitlock of Meridian, MS; two sisters, Jennifer Whitlock-Coleman (Gene) of Meridian, MS; and Frances W. Stewart of Ridgeland, MS; nephew, Jaricus Whitlock (Vanessa) of Brandon, MS; ex-wife and long-time friend, Sharron Smith Whitlock of Arlington, TX; four children, Erica Denise and Tresven Lamar Whitlock of Arlington, TX; Demetric Warren of Atlanta, GA; and TresRionna Whitlock of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, relatives, and caregivers.
