Mrs. Ty'Teshia Norris Stephens' Obituary
On August 4, 1985, a beautiful baby girl named Ty’Teshia Ti’Tiana Norris was born to the late Helen Norris & the late Lester Ivy, Jr. She was affectionately known to family and friends as Teano.
Teano attended Southeast Lauderdale High School. She was a member of New Salem M.B. Church under the leadership of the late Dr. MC Thompson Sr.
On August 5, 2017, she united in Holy Matrimony to the late Edward Stephens Jr. She was a person that loved and was loved by many. She was a mother figure to all her cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Stephens Jr.; her parents: Helen Norris & Lester Ivy, Jr.; her maternal grandparents: Dillie & Lonnie T. Norris; paternal grandparents: Minnie & Lester Ivy, Sr.
On Thursday, November 17, 2022, God saw she was tired, weary, and needed rest. His angels came to lead her up the stairway to Heaven. Surrounded by family, she gently closed her eyes and surrendered to God’s command. She will be deeply missed & her loving memories will be cherished in the hearts of: her one and only daughter, Um’Unique Norris of Meridian, MS; 3 sisters: Sophia Jennings of Fayette, North Carolina; Te’Meshia (Marques) Warren & Kwante Pearson of Meridian, MS; mother-in-law, Roxie Stephens of Meridian, MS; 1 sister-in-law, Takelia Stephens of Meridian, MS; 10 aunts: Charlene, Joanna, Bertha (Ronnie), Phyllis, Lisa, Patsy, Georgia, Dorothy (Chris), Terri, all of Meridian, MS; Angela of Lisman, AL; 3 uncles: Michael (Juanita) Norris of Tampa, FL; Michael Land & Jerry (Mary) of Meridian, MS; 1 niece, Me’Iyah; and 1 nephew, C’Quan, both of Meridian, MS. Also to cherish her memories are many cousins and friends.
