Mr. Tyrone Mosley's Obituary
Tyrone was born in Meridian, MS on November 29, 1955 to Anna Mae Mosley (Adams) and John B. Mosley. At an early age, Tyrone joined and became an active member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church where his immediate and extended family worshipped. Although St. John was his family's church, Tyrone made a name for himself in his own right as a faithful church member who proudly served on the usher board. Tyrone enjoyed fellowshipping with other believers and frequently visited services of other Meridian churches. Indeed, his characteristic "Amens" during sermons are fondly remembered by his church members and as one pastor commented, Tyrone's praise encouraged him during his sermons. Tyrone attended Meridian High School and afterwards showed his strong work ethic in his various positions while he was a student and later in life. He worked with his father at a local bank, performed odd jobs for businesses and families in the area, and later worked at Meywebb Hosiery Mills, Inc. for over 30 years until the facility closed. Tyrone had a kind and gentle spirit and was beloved by his family and friends. Tyrone frequently could be seen walking around town to complete his errands or as he would say, to "just get out of the house." Whether in the summer heat or winter cold, if a family member or friend stopped to offer him a ride, he would politely decline and share that he preferred the exercise and peace of walking. In addition to his quiet nature, Tyrone will be remembered for the big smile that he would flash when he heard a great song during family or community events that would pull him from his seat to dance. His smile and enthusiasm were infectious, and he soon would find himself in the center of a crowd cheering him on. Tyrone was helpful and loving to anyone he met and will be missed. Tyrone passed away at Anderson Regional Medical Center on September 4, 2021. Tyrone was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Dorothy Jean Mosley and Jonnie Mae Hill, and his maternal and paternal grandparents. He leaves to cherish his memory his Aunt Betty Jennings, his siblings, brother Roosevelt (Alberta) Mosley, sister Anna Louise Adams, brother John Lee Mosley, sisters Mary Ann Mosley and Willa Dean Stennis, brother, James Edward Mosley, and sister Callie Bernice (Ronnie) McRae, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
