Mrs. Viola (Val) Louise Willis, 49, was born in Meridian, MS, to Jack Amerson Edward Dubose (step-father) and Dorothy Mae Willis. She departed this life on May 1, 2014. Val attended Meridian Public Schools. At an early age, she made her confession to Christ at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. Val was a very domestic lady with passions of cooking and helping others. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Amerson; mother, Dorothy Mae Willis; step-father, Edward Dubose; brother, Danny Willis; grandparents, James and Louise Willis, and Pearline Christian. Val leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories her companion, Leo Baskin; two brothers, Eddie Willis of Meridian, MS, and James Amerson of California; three sisters, Vickie A. Willis and Angela Dubose of Meridian, MS, and Diana (Merrick) Hopkin of TN; two uncles, Ernest Timms of Chicago, IL, and Nathaniel Willis of Akron, OH; one daughter/niece, Asia Dubose; three aunts, Bertha J. Jenkins of Meridian, MS, Lillie Mitchell of Jackson, MS, and Ann Huggins of Laurel, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
