Mrs. Virginia Hand's Obituary
Virginia Allen Hand was born on November 5, 1922, to Selena Avery Allen and David Allen in Durham, North Carolina. Before the age of one, the family moved to Youngtown, Ohio, where she grew up. Virginia moved to New York in her early twenties. While living in New York, she met the love of her life, Percy Hand. Virginia and Percy were married on August 20, 1957. To this union were born three children. Once the children began school, she decided to continue her education and became a family health worker. She and her family eventually relocated to Stonewall, Mississippi in 1974 where she spent the remainder of her life. After moving to Stonewall, Mississippi, Virginia became employed with Burlington Industries. After the loss of her husband, she retired in 1984. She spent her remaining years enjoying the love of family which was being around her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. After a long illness, she was called to be with the Lord on Friday morning, January 17, 2020. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-five years, Percy Hand; three sons: McKinley Wright, Victor Butler, and David Hand; and one daughter: Deborah McGee. Virginia leaves to cherish her memories: One daughter: Cheryl (Jerome) DeLoach of Stonewall, MS; six grandchildren: Telethia (Toni) Hand of Fairburn, GA, David (Jessica) Hand Jr. of Meridian, MS, Davida McGee of Covington, GA, Kayla (Jason) Walker of Bailey, MS, Dr. Tyler DeLoach of St. Robert, MO, and Akira DeLoach of Stonewall, MS; and five great-grandchildren: Alia Hand, Jaymion Moore, and Theus Green of Fairburn, GA, and Chase Bradley and Jaida Walker of Bailey, MS. She also leaves behind two special people, her goddaughter China Love (Greenville, SC) and Wendy King who was like a daughter.
