Mrs. Virginia Brown Knighton's Obituary
Virginia Brown Knighton was born on May 26, 1941 to the late Carrie Brown and Will Hatter both of Meridian, MS. At an early age, she began attending Pilgrim Progress Baptist Church where she remained a life-long member and faithfully served as a member of the Hospitality Committee and the Missionary Society. After bravely battling several illnesses, she departed this life on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 from Regency Hospital at Anderson Regional Medical Center's South Campus in Meridian. God has now called her home to rest free from pain, illness, and sorrow along with His many angels. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Carol Earvin of Miami, FL and Annie Pearl Young; two brothers, Tom Hatter of St. Louis, MO and Brewster Hatter; husband, Manuel Knighton; two sons, Emanuel Knighton, Jr. and Robin Knighton; and daughter, Sharon Knighton. Her loving memory will forever be cherished by her two daughters, Carolyn Shum of Alton, IL and Kathy Rondon of Atlanta, GA; two sons, Kenneth Knighton of Meridian, MS and Mark Knighton of Atlanta, GA; her devoted companion Lee Russell Scott of Meridian, MS; her sons in-law, Robert Shum and Rene Rondon-Perez; her beloved cousins Ann Green of Meridian, MS, Mary Wells of Gulfport, MS, and James Brown of Gulfport, MS; 15 grand children; 6 great grand children; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
