Ms. Virginia Kelly Miller's Obituary
Mr. Issac & Ernestine Kelly became my parents on September 26, 1943 in Meridian, MS. I grew up in a God fearing, loving and hard working household. I gave my life to the Lord at a very young age at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, out 45 South for those that might not know. Around 1964, I moved to Chicago, Illinois and joined Good shepherd Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Ruben Coleman, Sr. In 1966, I married Joseph Miller and with this union we had three children: Anthony, Antonio & my baby girl Tammy. While working countless hours in Spiegel Department store in Chicago, I was always a devoted wife & dedicated mother to my family.
As the years rolled by, I relocated back to Meridian and would eventually invest over 22 years in Tyson Foods Inc. My favorite pastimes was spending time with family, gardening and telling jokes. Have you ever heard this joke about...well I have to tell you that one when I see you again! I am thankful for St. James A.M.E. Church where I spent my last years serving a God who never failed me. I enjoyed my life to the fullest and I completed every task. I did not give up on March 29, I fought the fight to the end, finished my course and now have received righteousness. Preceding in death parents: Mr. Issac and Ernestine Kelly; one sister, Mrs. Rose Ann Henderson, all of Meridian, MS.
Special memories I leave with my children: Anthony Miller (Stephanie) Phoenix, AX, Antonio Miller (Ayshia) Jacksonville, FL & Tammy Miller (Terrance) of Gainesville, VA; grandchildren: Autumn, Taillia, Dontae, Zahir & Chloe; one great-grand, Lil Joe Miller; my only living Uncle, Luther DuBose (Edna)
My siblings, Ruby Lee Bell (Leonard), Ada Mae Whitlock (Ben Earl), Rose Ann Henderson (John), Bernice Johnson (Palmer), Louvenia Ford (Brownie), JoAnn Cooley (Haskell) and my brother, Issac Kelly (Nora); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
