Mr. W.G. "Pig" Lanier's Obituary
WG. Lanier, a precious baby boy, was born on January 31, 1957 in Meridian, Mississippi to the late G.W. and Magnolia Lanier. W.G. was the second oldest child of four children born unto the union of his parents. W.G. confessed Christ at New Era Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Roddrick Steele, he remained a faithful member until his untimely death. W.G. was educated in the Meridian Public School system. WG. was employed with the Meridian Public School system maintenance department for more than 17 years as a dedicated employee that had a passion for his job. WG. was proceeded in death by his parents the late G.W and Magnolia Lanier; two brothers, Ivy Lee and Willie Davis; two aunts, Naomi Thigpen and Lela Horton, and one uncle, Isom Ben Davis. WG. departed his earthly life for his eternal home on Saturday October 4, 2014 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. W. G. leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife of 17 years, Diane Lanier; five sons, Cedric Lanier, Donavon Howard and Jerail Walker all of Meridian, Mississippi, Larry (Marty) Walker ofWaikiki, Hawaii and Anthony Walker of Fort Gordon, Georgia; one daughter, Michelle Eason of Meridian, Mississippi; three loving grandchildren, Jathbion Lanier, Bryon Eason and Manzsha Eason of Meridian, Mississippi; two sisters, Joyce (Previn) Williams of Baldwin, Michigan and Bettye Jean Hershey of Meridia~ Mississippi; one aunt, Mary Ruth McClelland of Meridian, Mississippi, and two uncts, Michael and Robert Lanier both of Meridian, Mississippi. His loving mother-in-law, Sarah Walker of Meridian, Mississippi; three sisters-in-law, Mary Walker of Racine, Wisconsin, Lillie Mae and Dorothy Walker both of Meridian, Mississippi and one brother-in-law, Sam Walker of Meridian, Mississippi, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
