Mr. William C. Crowell's Obituary
William C. Crowell was born December 14, 194 9 to the late Mr. Cleo Crowell and Mrs. Mary Inell Watson Crowell McCoy he departed this life Saturday, September 16, 2018. William was a lifelong member of Fairview Baptist where he served in many capacities. He was a Deacon for forty-six (46) years. A member of the Male Chorus for thirty-eight (38)years and Financial Chairman until his health failed He lived by his favorite scripture; "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. " Matthew 6:33 His early education was at Mt. Barton School. William graduated from Middleton Attendance Center in 1971. As a young man, Hardin Bakery and Pillyard Trucking Company employed William as a truck driver. His last employment was with East Mississippi State Hospital until he retired because of his health. He was also known as the best lawn caretaker in Meridian. To cherish his memory, William leaves a lovely and devoted wife, Vickie Bennett Crowell, two daughters, Jennifer Crowell, Jackson, Mississippi, Lavisha Crowell, Meridian, Mississippi, four sons, William Crowell Jr., Dallas,Texas, Wayne Crowell, Meridian, Mississippi, Fredrick Knighten (Sasha), Birmingham, Alabama and James Glass. Two sisters, Diane Mitchell (Willie) and Beverley Lois Cooley, (Paul), Meridian, Mississippi, three brothers, Charles Crowell, Fredrick Crowell (Rosie) and Kelvin Crowell, Meridian, Mississippi, nine (9) grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
