Mr. Willie James Alford's Obituary
Traveling days will soon be over, we will go home to live with Jesus and receive our crown. Willie James Alford, (JR) began his earthly life journey with James Alford and Amy Wilson, his Mother and Father on October 12, 1935. He was joined on his journey by two brothers, Robert Lee Alford, Leroy Alford, one sister, Ella Ruth Alford. His parents, one brother and sister preceded him in death. September 19, 1959 a wife united on his journey, Martha Ann Belli Lewis. November 20, 1968 he was joined by a son James Derrico Alford. On February 18, 2018 at 7:30 a.m., his journey ended in his home where he and his wife lived for 59 years. He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church on Wire Road. Where he served as chairman of the Deacon Board. Later in life he united with the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. He served as Deacon. He was a member of King David's Lodge No.6 of the International Grand Lodge and a member of Marion Chapter No. 353 Order of Eastern Star. On his earthly journey he enjoyed traveling the Highway, supporting his family as a long distance truck driver for 48 years. Four companies had the privilege of employing his expertise in handling a Tracker Trailer: Hassle Grocery, Atlas Roofing, Roadway and Baldwin transportation where he received many safety awards. He was educated in the Green Hill, and Stevenson Vocation High School in Toosumba, MS Mr. Willie James Alford was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed by family. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Martha Ann B. L. Alford, a son, James Derrico (Doretta) Alford; five grandchildren, Mayian D. Alford, Nicalas D. Alford, Knyjel D. Alford, Niqira D. Alford and Nebroc D. Alford; one brother, Rev. Robert Lee Alford; three nephews, LeDerrick Dewayne Alford, Jerry Maurice Alford and Eric Lee Alford; a host of cousins and friends.
