Mr. Willie Frank Grady's Obituary
Willie Frank Grady, affectionately and commonly known as "Man" and "Doc", was born Wednesday, August 5, 1936 to Melvin Grady and Sadie Bohannon Grady in DeKalb, Kemper County, MS. During early life, he joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in DeKalb, MS, and received his education from the Kemper County School System where he attended Whisenton High School in DeKalb, MS. On June 21, 1958, he married Willie Mae Leggette, the daughter of Jodie Leggette and Azalee Leggette, who was also a native of Kemper County, MS. Three children, two daughters and one son, were born to their union. As a young adult, he moved to Birmingham, Jefferson County, AL, and years later returned back to his native DeKalb, MS which proved to be one of the best moves in his life. In 1961, he became gainfully employed with the Coca-Cola Company in Meridian, MS where he was still employed at his demise after 55 years of devoted services. He really believed in the Coca-Cola slogan of "Having A Coke And A Smile". He departed this earthly life on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at his residence in DeKalb, Kemper County, MS, at the age of 79. His former wife, Willie Mae Leggette Grady; a son, Willie T. Grady; father, Melvin Grady; mother, Sadie Bohannon Grady; two sisters, Hattie Bell Grady Gordon and Bertha Mae Grady McCoy; three brothers, Rufus "Dick" Grady, James Arthur Grady, and Walter Grady, preceded him in death. Survivors are: two children -both daughters, Lori Grady Stanley (Warren) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Patricia Grady of Moreno Valley, CA; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; two siblings -a sister, Texana Grady Nixon (John L.) of Cleveland, OH; a brother, Melvin Grady, Jr. of Cleveland, OH; aunts, Olivia Coleman Bohannon and Queenie McDade Bohannon, both of DeKalb, MS; a lifelong friend, Sam Bennamon (Amie) of DeKalb, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
