Willie Jean Jackson was born on June 23, 1970 to Minnie and the late Melvin Gowdy in Lauderdale, Mississippi. During her years growing up Willie attended the Lauderdale County Schools System. She was loved dearly by her family and friends and will be truly missed. She departed this earthly life on Thursday February 25, 2016 at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi. Willie leaves behind to cherish her memories: a loving mother, Minnie Gowdy of Lauderdale, MS; three sons, LenDario Gowdy of Laurel, MS, Earnquarius Jackson and Devonte Darden both of Lauderdale, MS; one brother, Melvin (Tracey) Gowdy of Lauderdale, MS. one sister, Maggie (Jessie) Hill of Lauderdale, MS; five grandchildren, Ea 'Myria, Ea 'Niyah, Key 'Miah, Ca 'Riyah, and Damari," a loving and devoted friend Johnny Hill; a grandmother, Lucy Gowdy of Lauderdale, MS and a very special friend Brenda Boyd. A host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Melvin Gowdy, and grandparents Hattie Overstreet, Cleveland Gowdy and TB Gibbs.
