Ms. Willie O'dell's Obituary
Willie O'Dell (Billie) Baylor was born on July 10, 1951 to the late Cezar and Willie Louise Evans. She was affectionately known as Billie to all who knew and loved her. Billie passed away peacefully in her home on October 8, 2017 after a gradual decline in health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last days of her life. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and her ex-husband, Robert Earl Baylor. Her journey with God began at El Bethel Baptist Church. She later joined St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church where she was an active member until her health failed. She was a faithful servant among her brothers and sisters in Christ. She graduated from T. J. Harris High School Class of 1969. She immediately started in the workforce working for the Meridian Housing Authority for fifteen years and the Lauderdale County Detention Center for fifteen years until her retirement. She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving and devoted son, Terrance La'Shawn Evans of Meridian, MS; three loving sisters, Katherine (Joseph) McSheen, Cynthia Love, both of Meridian, MS and Diane (John) Grace of Toomsuba, MS; two grandchildren, TaQuandra Evans of Meridian, MS and Jasmine Evans of Bailey, MS; one great-grandson, Bryson Amir Stevens of Meridian, MS; four nieces, Angie (Hiram) Hodges of Fayetteville, GA, Kimberly Lloyd, Tiffany Larkin, Krystal (Chester) Ephrim, all of Meridian, MS; one nephew, Kipp Love of Meridian, MS and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
