Willie D. Rush, Jr. was born on February 24, 1948 to Mary Kate Rush and Willie D. Rush, Sr. in Lauderdale County. June was a kind hearted man. He worked for many years as a car detailed at Fred Moore’s Detail Shop in Meridian. He was very good with his hands and could fix almost everything he worked on. He departed this life on May 26, 2013 at the Meridian Community Living Center. He was preceded in death by his parents; one nephew, Alfred L. Rush, Sr., loving partner in life Ms. Ernestine “Lucy” Bell; long time friend of 35 years, Mr Fred Warren; three aunts, Rosie B. Chaney, Susie L. Hall and Annie E. Hudson; two uncles, George Morgan and Mardis Morgan.
He leaves to cherish his memory two children, Ralph D. Bell and Christina Bell, both of Meridian, MS; one grandson, Eric D. Moore Jr.; two sisters, Willie Mae (Amos) Anderson and Stella Mae Rush both of Meridian, MS; three brothers, Earnest Rush, Jessie Rush, and Larry Rush all of Meridian, MS; one uncle, William Irby of Detroit, MI and one aunt, Estella Ivy of Meridian, MS, a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
