Mr. Willie James Sturdivant, Sr. was born on August 28, 1954 to Mr. Junior Lee and Abell Wash Sturdivant in Lauderdale, MS. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Elizabeth Baptist Church in Lauderdale, Mississippi. He attended Northeast High School in Meridian, Mississippi and graduated in the Class of 1974.He then became employed at Stuckey Candy Store in Kewanee, MS for numerous of years until they closed their business. He then became employed at Gipson Steel in Meridian, MS for 23 years. Willie James Sturdivant, Sr. (67) departed this earthly life on February 21, 2022 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. He leaves to cherish his memories to: a loving and devoted wife, Bessie Sturdivant of Lauderdale, Mississippi; one (1) daughter, Teshicia (Bobby) Mason of Russell, Mississippi; his parents, Junior Lee and Abell Wash Sturdivant of Lauderdale, MS; four (4) precious grandchildren, Jessica Sturdivant of Gulfport, MS, Shundarius Phillips, Anayliah Phillips and Aja Sturdivant all of Lauderdale, MS; one brother, Julius Sturdivant of Lauderdale, MS; one (1) sister, Jean (Harry) Armstrong of Ludowcici, GA; three (3) aunts, Jennie Mae Smith ofToomsuba, MS, Willie B Grace and Addie R Grace both of Lauderdale, MS; one (1) uncle, J W Wash of Stamford, CT; three (3) nieces, Ticetta Grace of Lauderdale, MS, Tammy Silliman of Meridian, MS and Danielle Grace of Ludowici, GA; two (2) nephews, Shadrick (Tolanda) Grace of Collinsville, MS, Deaudrey Bourrage of Meridian, MS; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends that loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his son, Willie James "Lil Willie" Sturdivant, Jr.; grandparents, Green and Sallie M Wash.
