Mr. Willie A. Townsend's Obituary
Willie A. Townsend was born on April 11, 1934 in Porterville, MS to the late Luberta and Milton Townsend. Willie was the fifth of eight children born. Willie accepted Christ at an early age at Saint John in Porterville, MS. He later moved to Meridian, MS and became employed with St. Louis Hines Iron & Metal until failure of his health.
On October 11, 2015, God walked into His garden and picked one of his beautiful roses. God said to His servant, Willie your work is done, come home to take your rest. He is proceeded in death by both parents Luberta Mobley Townsend and Milton (Kid) Townsend, two brothers Lonnie B. Townsend and Joe Townsend, one sister Katie Mae Grady. He leaves to mourn, two brothers, and two sisters. Clyde (Loeina) Townsend, of Meridian, MS; Johnny Townsend of Flint, MI; Sarah (Jessie) Scott of Detroit, MI; and Irma Jean Windham of Meridian, MS. One special friend Katie Ezell of 20 years. A loving niece Vickie Windham Winfield and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
