Mr. Winford Morris Sr.'s Obituary
Winford Morris, Sr was born on July 2, 1951 to the parentage of the late Lawson Morris and Mary Randle Morris, the fifth child of ten children born to this union. At a young age, he united with St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, Meridian, MS under the leadership o.f the late Reverend Tony Burks. He attended Harris High School in Meridian, MS. He was employed at Southern Scrap of Meridian for 40 years until he retired Winford was a wise, knowledgeable, strong, and hard working man who was totally committed and dedicated to his wife, Alfaye Morris for 30 years until her death. He committed his life to loving his family. He was preceded in death by his wife; one grandson: Carter McNeil; and two siblings: Sylvester Morris and Georgia Walker. On the morning of April 10, 2021 at sunrise, silence came into the Morris family and with chilly fingers sealed the lips of Winford Morris, Sr. Mourning his loss and cherishing his precious memories are two sons: Winford (Tiffany) Morris, North Carolina, and Joshua( Brittany) Morris; two daughters, Tonya (Edgar) Ruffin and Renata (Chrfa) McNeil of Meridian; ten grandchildren: Jazzmine Andrews, Oneca Smith, Wanya Morris, Chase Morris, Cameron Ruffin, Gabrielle Morris, Jaden Morris, Crislyn McNeil, Jariah Morris, Elijah Morris, and J(mrnie Morris; three brothers: Bobby( Earrie) Randle, Lawson ( Delois) Morris, and Henry Morris;four sisters: Helen (Walter) Morris, Sue( Curtis) Bebley, Loretta ( Eugene) Robinson and Jenetta Morris; one brother-in-law: Michael Maxie and two sisters-in-law: Joanne (and the late Eddie) Maxie, and Gloria (and the late Albert) Noble; a very good friend Mr. Robert Earl Brown who has been his friend his entire life, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that was dear to him.
