Mrs. Winnie Mae Lee's Obituary
Winnie Lee was born April 15, 1943 in Lauderdale County, Mississippi to the late Curtis and Wilmer Hearn Curry.
She departed this earthly life on March 24, 2020.
Winnie was a loving wife, wonderful mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, grandmother, great-grand mother, neighbor, and friend.
Winnie attended Stevenson High School in Toomsuba, MS. On August 30, 1961, Winnie married the late George Lee, and of their union, they had one child. Winnie and George later moved to Cincinnati, OH to pursue a wholesome life. Winnie was a production line worker. She also cared for young children in her home. Winnie enjoyed fishing and crocheting. In 2008, Winnie and George moved back to Mississippi to assist in the care of her mother. Winnie accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Good Hope CME Church (Meridian, MS), Rockdale Baptist Church (Cincinnati, OH), and later joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church (Meridian, MS) after moving back to Mississippi.
Winnie touched the lives of many with her smile and generosity.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, George Lee; parents: Curtis and Wilmer Hearn Curry; sisters: Cee-Bell Curry, Marvine Curry, and Linda Portis; brother, Curtis Lee Curry; sisters-in-law: Clansa Edwards, and Gracie Lee; brothers-in-laws: Robert Lee, Clarence Lee Jr., Mack Auther Lee, William Felix Lee, Jospeh Lee, Dionell Portis, and Woodrow Edwards II; nephews: Anthony Neal and Ezell Moss Sr; and grandson, Tyrone Satterwhite III.
Winnie leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Vonda (Johnnie) Latham Sr; one niece, Roxanne (Anthony) Simpson, whom she loved and cared for as her own; one big baby, Carmela (Steven) Sands; one God daughter, Sally Vi (Eugene) Henderson; eight sisters: Annie (Jim) Neal, Georgia Curry, Betty Bell, Willie Ann (Late Woodrow) Edwards II, Brenda (Rodger) Horton, Bobbie Camara Annie Bell (Hubert) Hill, and Joyce Hurdle; two sisters-in-law: Fannie (Samuel) Alford, and Bessie Lee; four grandchildren: Robert Lee, Tanaka Robinson, Felisha Lee, and Courtney Lee; thirteen great grand children: Tyeisha Satterwhite, Tyquon Satterwhite, London Lee, Octavion Payne, Ozier Payne, Richelle Carter, Ramir Carter, G’Ordin Lee, Angela Lee, Brandon Latham II, Romeo Shamburger, Mekhi Shamburger, and Peyton Lee; three best friends: Mary Yarbrough, Esther Larkins-Clements; and Dorothy Hearn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, neighbors, and friends.
