Mr. Johnny Lee Trotter, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Johnny Lee Trotter, age 72 and a resident of Meridian, MS, transitioned to glory on Wednesday, January 14, 2021 at his home peacefully with his children by his side.
Johnny was born April 14, 1948 to the late Grady Mason and Mary Pearl Trotter. He received his high school diploma from Harris High School and his Bachelor’s from Liberty University. He dedicated 10 years to the United States Air Force returning home to serve as a police officer at the Meridian Police Department. Johnny served faithfully at Calvary Baptist Church as a Minister of the Gospel and a proud member of the Men’s Choir until his health failed.
Johnny was joined in holy matrimony to Dorothy LaJean Nelson in Meridian, MS on February 2, 1970. To this union was born three children, Julie Ann, Stephanie and Johnny Jr.
Johnny’s wife Dorothy La’Jean Nelson Trotter; parents: Mary Pearl Young Trotter and Grady Mason, Sr; loving grandmother, Edith Little; granddaughter, Donna Peden; brothers: Grady Mason, twin brothers, Alvin and Albert Mason; grandson, Johnerio “MoHead” Blackley of Meridian, MS, all preceded him in death.
Johnny leaves to cherish his memories: a son, Johnny “Flip” Trotter, Jr. of Meridian, MS; two loving daughters: Julie A. Trotter (Jason McBride) of Hattiesburg, MS and Dr. Stephanie (Sean) Trotter Rushin of Chester, VA; brothers, George Lee Trotter (Mary), Leon Trotter of Augusta, GA, Current (Sonny) Jones of Meridian, MS; and sisters: Pearl Juanita Jones of Augusta, GA; Olivia Jones of Augusta, GA; Cheryl Reed of Las Vegas, Nevada; Grandchildren: Corey Hardy, Jayna Trotter, Emil Boggan, Johnny Trotter III, Elisa Rushin, Sean Rushin Jr., Jaydon Foxx; great-grandchildren: Aiden Trotter, Kingston Trotter, Elijah Trotter, Johniah Lisaray Blakney, and Darrion Boggan.
Johnny was a loving father, a devoted friend, and a faithful servant of God. He was beloved by his friends and family and will be greatly missed.
