Mrs. Mildred Clark Carr's Obituary
Mrs. Mildred Clark Carr was born to the late Marion and Minnie Clark, January 7, 1922 in Meridian, MS. The third of six children of which three preceded her in death, Ms Hazel Miller, Lucile Curry, and Leo Clark. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and united with Savannah Grove .. Missionary Baptist Church, under the pastorate of the Rev. J. W. BurwelL Her secular education was obtained in the Meridian Public School System. After further studies, she prepared for a teaching position in Kemper County, MS where she taught in DeKalb MS. She was married to the late Walter R. Carr. To this union was one son was born, Robert R. Carr. Later she moved to New York, N.Y., where she worked and later retired from TWA airlines. She united with Convent Baptist Church where she served and worked mostly in the young people's division of the church. After her retirement, she returned home to Meridian and reunited with Savannah Grove where she served faithfully as long as her health permitted. She departed this life May 15, 2013. She leaves to celebrate her life and memories her son Robert R Carr, two sisters Mrs. Helen Thomas, Meridian, MS., and Mrs. Wilhemina Hayes, Apopka, FL. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and one very special friend and caretaker, Ms. Ernestine Hall Jones, Meridian, MS.
