Ms. Valerie Jean Alexander's Obituary
Valerie J. Alexander was born in Meridian, MS to Maggie West
Holmes and Monroe Holmes on November 23, 1959.
She attended schools in Meridian, MS and graduated from
Meridian High School. Valerie went on to attend Meridian
Community College where she began her studies in Dietary
Management.
Valerie worked in the Dietary field for East Mississippi State
Hospital for over 15 years until her early retirement.
After that, she spent time with her loving daughter Yolanda in Houston, Texas.
Valerie is preceded in death by her parents Maggie and Monroe; brothers
Robert James West, Ralph Richard West, Thomas Monroe Homes and James Tyrone
Holmes; and sister Ora Cecilia.
She is survived by her only child, daughter Yolanda (Chris); sister Glenda Faye Rowe
(Phillip); brother Calvin Holmes (Helen); grandchildren Alex and Chris III; and a host
of nieces, nephews and special friends including the 5th Street Family/Friends and
many, many more who will miss her dearly.
