Mr. Ward Martin's Obituary
Ward Leland Martin, 62, died January 11, 2025, in Meridian, MS, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born November 4, 1962, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, to Marlene Joy (Lust) and Ronald Ward Martin. After graduating from Martins Ferry High School (Class of 1981), he served nine years in the United States Navy and retired from the FAA. Friends will always remember his wit, love of life, lifelong interest in science and the universe and his passion for golfing with friends Charles Young and Richard Bailey. He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved sister, Valerie Martin Duck. Survivors include his loving wife, Veronica; son, Jacob Martin, of Jackson, MS; daughter, Emma Martin, of Meridian, MS; brother, Ronnie Martin of Florida; two sisters and three grandchildren, with one on the way; and a host of friends near and far.
Berry and Gardner Funeral Home of Meridian has entrusted with the arrangements.
A Celebration of Life will be held later at the family’s convenience.
